诸葛亮

Zhu Ge Liang has FINALLY appeared in 三国演义 after 104 long gruelling pages filled with chinese words (small chinese words, excuse me, and no, it is NOT a picture book, contrary to what Yong An thought haha). yes i exaggerate, it’s been a very satisfying book so far, mainly because it has broken so many records in my short life. ahem
1) first chinese book I’ve attempted without a chinese test awaiting me.
2) first book that made me so excited to see the emergence of a character.
3) first book in which I can’t read half the names of the characters. i have to remember how the chinese characters look like! quite pathetic i know. haha
4) first book to make me intentionally switch off my mp3 in the bus, so that i can concentrate better.
Occasionally I wonder why I even embarked on this book. one, probably impulse after watching the Three Kingdoms. two, i’m tired of being a non-chinese. three, i made the decision during my exams, and everything else other than mugging was fun. four, i try not to break a promise I made to myself, even if it is on impulse. (i read this self-help book for teenagers years ago, and it said that one should always keep one’s promises to oneself, if not one would stop trusting oneself. i remember thinking that that made perfect sense then. and the resolution just stuck.) five, Tony Leung. hahaha
I have slightly less than 2/3 of the book left. gogogo! :D
